Approach and Process
In this assignment I was tasked to create a collage and illustration based on a pair of rhyming words. The collage was open to pretty much anything, but the illustration had to be black and white and have iconic qualities.

For the collage, I chose to do Link/think (Link from The Legend of Zelda). I used a wide variety of textures and colors to make the collage as vibrant as possible. For Link himself I used an image of Rodin's "The Thinker" and applied gradients to it. To emphasize the "think" aspect I added a little buffer sign over his head. To emphasize the "Link" aspect I collaged his iconic tunic and hat over "The Thinker", as well as the Master Sword, Triforce, and the (blood) moon.

For the illustration, I chose to do melon/felon. I had a lot of thumbnails I liked, but the melon/felon looked so fun, I knew it was going to be the one I chose. The melon is given a cute face to contrast with the fact that there's a felony in process.
